2024 Awards – Rules and Polling Instructions

Voting and Nominations by 2024 KCA Membership Accepted Current Members Only
To be entitled to this award you must be a 2024 KCA membership accepted current member, who has worked to help the Association, and worked toward the benefit of the office of Constable. Aside from being an active and helpful member, this person performs the duties that they were elected by their community to perform. This person should uphold the law even when they don’t necessarily agree with it. This person attends training. This person should best exemplify the Kentucky Constable Association and the Office of Constable across Kentucky through training, professionalism, and by being legally and ethically relentless in the pursuit of justice. The top 2 receiving votes will receive 1st place and Runner-Up awards. Nominations and Votes must be cast via a Google Survey. 2024 KCA membership accepted current members will receive the link in your email. Voting will begin upon completion of nominations and votes will also be cast on a Google Survey via a link you will receive in another email. There will be NO Facebook voting. The voting for this will be open to 2024 KCA membership approved current members only. Any votes or nominations cast by a non-2024 KCA membership approved current member will be deleted. Anyone who votes must include your Full Name and Telephone Number. Only one vote per 2024 KCA membership approved current member per award category will be accepted. Attempting to cast a second vote for any nominee in the same award category will result in nullification and removal of any and all votes cast by that individual. Any nominee found to be involved in this or any other type of vote tampering in any way, will be removed from consideration.

   This award is for the best Constable serving the State of Kentucky as chosen by their fellow Constables as well as his/her constituents. KCA Membership is not required. Nominations and Voting is open to KCA Members, Non Members of the  KCA as well as members of the public.

   The award recipient does not necessarily need to be a KCA member, however MUST be a Current Sworn Kentucky Constable with a clean record. Nominations will be made through Google Polling. The Constable you nominate shall have served their community well in 2024, while displaying the attributes that cast a positive light on law enforcement as well as on the office of constable as a whole. Any Constable nominated will be investigated by our professional standards office and must be found generally to be above reproach. Unfounded accusations may, but do not necessarily, justify elimination from running. Appeals to Board/Professional Standards decisions may be filed in writing to the KCA Board within 7 days of election close. This Nominee should set an example in his everyday life and strive to be a role model as a Constable. This Nominee should uphold the law even when they may not necessarily agree with it. This Nominee should best exemplify the Office of Constable across Kentucky through training, professionalism and by being legally and ethically relentless in their pursuit of justice and unwavering in their commitment to the citizens. The award recipient should be the Nominee who can best display the greatest attributes of the women and men who take the oath and voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way everyday.

  1st place and Runner-Up will be awarded. The nominations/voting for this will be open to the public however anyone who nominates/votes must include a name, address and telephone number. Only one nomination/vote per person in the same award category will be accepted. Any person casting a second nomination/vote for any nominee in the same award category will result in nullification and removal of any and all nominations/votes cast by that individual. Any nominee found to be involved in or silently aware of this infraction or any other type of vote tampering in any way will be removed from consideration.

So be sure to include your FULL name, Your Telephone Number, Your Address and your nomination for KCA STATEWIDE Constable of the year. Faking of information will not be tolerated. If you have already nominated once, this nomination will not be considered.

One award will be presented to the 2024 Association member who has received the most training hours for attending and participating in KCA approved training for 2024. The winner will be chosen by the KCA Board, based on training records found in the KCA Database. This includes the PoliceOne Training Assignments. Winner will be determined by those records available in the database on 10/31/24. No training will be considered if proof of KCA approved training (certificate) is not in the KCA database at that time. At every meeting we remind members to turn in their acceptable training records to the Association. These are the records that the board will use to determine this year’s Training Award Winner. If it was a KCA function, we have a copy on file. While it is too late for additional training to be included in this years award consideration, a copy of Training CERTIFICATES and the name and telephone numbers of the training host can be emailed to us and the KCA Board will determine if the training can be considered as KCA approved training. The recipient(s) for this award are board chosen. The recipient(s) for this award have endeavored to assist the KCA in making more than 100 hours of training available per member for 2024.

This/These are Presidential selected recipient(s). This award is given by the President to a person he feels has  excelled in assisting the President and the Association with training, day to day operations and/or other aspects of KCA business. The name of this award truly speaks for itself as the person(s) stepped up to assist the KCA Board, and/or the Association Members and/or non-member Constables across the State with little to no recognition.

This award recipient is nominated and selected by the Association Board. This award is given by the KCA Board to a member or a person who goes Above and Beyond in helping the KCA with training, daily operations and/or other aspects of business. We accept no nominations made outside of those by the KCA Board Members for this award.

2024 KCA Membership Approved Constables and Deputy Constables Weapons Training and Skills are recognized by this award. Strive to be better. The recipients of this award, based on annual qualification scores, show continued improvement and are currently among the top qualifiers with a duty handgun during KCA Range Stationary Target Qualifications.
